Ingredients
Equipment
· Mixing bowl
· Baking tray
· fork
· Cool hands
Method
Turn your oven on for 180c.
Mix all your ingredients together in a big old mixing bowl until you get a lovely soft dough. (Or cheat and fling it all in a food processor – add the egg last, or enough milk to encourage it to whizz into a dough). A couple of desert spoons should do it.
Pinch off small walnut sized pieces of dough and roll lightly in your hands.
Pop these onto your baking tray and flatten slightly with a fork.
Stick your tray into the middle of the oven and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown in colour.
Carefully remove and place on a cooling rack.
Serve with afternoon tea…
Other flavours to try…
½ tspn lemon essence and a large table spoon of dried thyme
Replace some of the flour with cocoa powder and some well bashed up chocolate pieces (orange rind might work with this combo too).
